We have extended the deadline to submit your name and bio to run for a position. If you're interested in running, please send an email to Toronto@womeninediscovery.org by June 7th and include the board position you are running for, a short bio of <120 words, and a statement as to why you are seeking to becoming a WiE board member. Feel free to include any questions you might have.

Some members of our current board are not running again (so lots of opportunities for others to get involved). June 20th Charity Event – Spring Cleaning Clothing Drive for Charity:

As part of the June 20 WiE meeting the WiE Charity Committee will be holding a Professional Attire Clothing Drive for Dress for Success Toronto. Dress For Success Toronto is a local affiliate of an international not-for-profit organization operating in over 154 cities in 30 countries. Since 2009 they have helped over 10,000 women in the GTA transition from unemployment to economic independence by supplying them with gently used business attire to help them look their best for job interviews. In their own words, the Dress of Success Suiting Program is “about more than clothing. It’s a transformational experience that builds confidence and self-esteem, enabling a woman to secure meaningful employment.”

As you do your annual spring cleaning wardrobe “cull” please set aside a few nice pieces that could be worn for an interview and help transform the lives of deserving women in our city. Men’s professional clothing is also accepted. To the extent possible, please bring clothing on hangers, in garment bags or folded in banker’s boxes for ease of delivery.
