Please join us for our February WIE meeting.  We are excited to have Monica McCarroll and Britney Lewis join us from Redgrave, LLP.  Monica and Britney will look back at the most influential eDiscovery cases and decisions from 2025 and look forward at the trends that will impact the eDiscovery industry for 2026.

Monica has a background as a trial attorney and currently focuses her practice on providing advice and counsel on eDiscovery and information governance issues to clients in a wide array of industries, including automotive, transportation, financial services, defense contracting, and pharmaceutical. She has represented and advised clients engaged in state and federal litigation and regulatory investigations in many areas of law, including antitrust and False Claims Act cases, and handles all stages of pre-trial litigation and discovery, including preparing, briefing, and arguing motions; preparing experts for deposition; and taking and defending depositions.


Monica served on the Executive Council of the IP/IT Section of the Virginia Bar Association (2015 – 2019) and spearheaded the creation of an Electronically Stored Information (ESI) Subcommittee to address eDiscovery and high technology issues. She is also a speaker and writer on Information Law issues and teaches an eDiscovery course at William & Mary Law School in Virginia. Chambers USA recognizes Monica as a leading eDiscovery and information governance lawyer.


With a background in civil litigation, Britney manages all aspects of the discovery process in complex matters, including class actions and government investigations. Her work encompasses overseeing document collection and review, drafting discovery requests, and preparing witnesses for depositions. Britney also works closely with testifying and consulting experts to prepare expert reports, prepares witnesses to testify, and takes and defends depositions, including corporate representative depositions.


Britney is a participating fellow in the Lawyers for Civil Justice Fellows Program. She also has significant pro bono experience and has been repeatedly named to the Capital Pro Bono Honor Roll by the District of Columbia Courts (High Honors 2019, Honors 2018).
