About Our Chapter's Charitable Work

WiE LA supports the Downtown Women’s Center and welcomes donations of your good quality, clean, new or gently used clothing, shoes and handbags at our meetings (full list of acceptable items here: http://www.downtownwomenscenter.org/our-wishlist/). Additionally, DWC is in need of commercial washing machines and dryers for its two residences and we are hoping our member Firms can help. After eight years of daily use by 119 residents, the washers and dryers are unable to keep up with the demand. Right now, DWC residents are not able to wash their clothes and other items. The Center needs a total of 12 commercial washer/dryer sets for the San Pedro and Los Angeles Street residences. For more information, please contact Mara Leong-Maguinez, Director of Development, at MaraL@DowntownWomensCenter.org or (213) 213-2834, and don't forget to register for this month's meeting!
